Ciao
Dear Ieda
I came looking for you before leaving but you weren’t there.
Thank you for your moving words. I often feel that all I’m doing is worthless, but messages like yours give me the strenght to keep going on.I’m aware of Chesterton work: he was a very deep and original thinker. People believe that they can live without God, but we’re all are deeply caught in a religious way of thinking. In the sense, that we all need to believe into something (“to be linked to something”: that’s the original meaning of religion in Latin). But I’m less concerned about the future of religion in modern society, rather than the state of Christianity today: Christians are very much in danger of transforming themselves into another spiritual sect, where the meaning of Incarnation - the flesh, the blood - gets lost into some kind of mysticism with no relation to our human experience. It might sound corny, but I dare to say: only women - mothers creating life - could save us. They know what the word love means: love before any kind of culture, rules, education, thinking. Love, just simply it.Hope to meet you one day and I pray God to protect you.
Ciao, Guido
